Rodillian Runners is very friendly running club based at Stanley Rodillian Rugby Union Club (Manley Park, off Lee Moor Road, Stanley, Wakefield). We cater for all standards. Our members include social runners, very beginners, joggers, fun runners, people who would just like to run to keep fit and serious race participants.
We were formed to encourage participation in running and we provide the ideal opportunity for lone runners to join a non-threatening running club and enjoy the company of others whilst out pounding the streets. The emphasis is always on running for enjoyment. No one need ever feel they would be too slow (or too fast) to join and enjoy being a member of Rodillian runners!
Our Tuesday night meetings include training sessions under the guidance and watchful eyes of qualified coaches and very experienced runners.
We are also committed to helping the community and to attracting major events to the Wakefield area. Rodillian Runners provides the technical expertise for the Wakefield City 10k and the Sandal Castle 10k races, both leading mass participation events in Wakefield and benefiting Wakefield Hospice.
The club has excellent facilities at the Rugby Club (including a bar), meeting at the rugby club on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6-30. Membership costs just £30 per year - and that includes full membership of the rugby club and full use of the facilities too.
