Ipswich Harriers Athletics Club is based at Northgate Sports Centre, England. IP4 3DJ
Ipswich Harriers Athletics Club offers coaching and competition for cross country, road races and track & field for any interested athlete over the age of 10 years(Year 6). 10 year old children have to have started school year 6 to be eligible. We also offer experienced or prospective coaches the opportunity to work with an enthusiastic and lively club. Club nights are Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6-8.30pm when we have the track and adjacent field booked for training, with most coached groups being from 6:30-8pm. All the groups are led by qualified coaches. Some groups also go out for road runs or hill training on club nights. We aim to provide training for any member who turns up on a club night, whatever the weather, but there's no requirement for an athlete to attend every training session. Younger eligible athletes join an induction group to have a go at everything before moving into a more specific area. Older athletes will join a relevant existing coached group but it's not unusual for an athlete to be involved with more than one group. We also arrange for guest coaches to come up on some club nights to teach a specific event. We're a competitive club so hope that athletes will want to join with a view to representing us in league and open competitions. Club colours are dark blue vests with two light blue bands and blue/black shorts and must be worn when representing the club. |
