Niels de Vos gave a talk at Keble College in Oxford where he said many silly things. He then went to extraordinary lengths to erase all references to this talk, aided and abetted by Keble College.

During his 3 year tenure as Chairman of the AAA of England, clubs at two EGM's have voted in favour of retaining governance, and preserving the Association. George Bunner has acted against the will of the membership, and caused huge damage to the historic Association.

Mr Chris Carter, the Honorary Secretary of the South of England AA distributed a letter to all Southern Clubs which represented a personal attack on the Web Master of these pages. This document reproduces the letter, and takes advantage of the opportunity to conduct an open debate between two individuals who hold opposing views on the "modernisation" process.

The SEAA called an EGM to allow clubs the opportunity to make changes to the articles of association which define the activities and procedure. This is guidance given to clubs on how to vote in order to preserve the athletics club system in England.

A well intentioned effort by the SEAA General Committee to consult with its membership was undermined when this document was distributed, which rendered any expression of a meaningful view impossible.

Tony Ward was once the British Athletics Federation's Communication Director, and this is his well founded criticism of UK Athletics.

The SEAA are a Limited Company, and the elected officers do not own the business. The Clubs own the business, and the officers have a duty to protect the business. If the Association wishes to convert to a commercial enterprise outside of the control of the clubs, then it is the clubs that must decide that pathway.

This represents the Government's formal go ahead for the Foster Review implementation. It will not raise standards at elite level, and it will serve to reduce the grass roots to a series of athletic type games where the emphasis is on fun. The AAA of England must be preserved as the mechanism through which clubs can organise a meaningful competition structure.
