Financial Matters
The following message was circulated to all clubs via the League Newsletter

As you are all aware the financial state of British Athletics is at a very low ebb. This has significant implications for the league. We are grateful for the continuing generous support from our parent body the North of England Athletic Association, but this year there will be no financial assistance from the BAF (British Athletic Federation).

In the light of this, the finances available to the League will be much reduced and will not meet demands if we continue to pay Track hire and give travel subsidies to the level of previous seasons.

The League's Finance Officer, Roy Swinbank, has prepared a paper outlining the situation together with a number of suggestions as to how these difficulties may be resolved. The paper will be circulated to a wider audience than normal recipients of the Newsletter.

You are asked to consult with your membership and be prepared to discuss the proposals at an

Extraordinary General Meeting

This has been called for 10.00am on Saturday 5th April, 1997 at South Leeds Stadium, the date and venue for this years's 12 Stage Road Relay Championships.
