at Alexander Stadium, Birmingham

Friday 11th, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th July 1997


The British Championships will be open to athletes eligible to compete for Great Britain in the World Championships. The organising committee reserves the right to amend the programme of events and if required hold a standards race in the 5,000 metres.

    Field Events - Qualification for finals


    All athletes achieving qualifying standard or the top 8.

    Clothing


    A competitor is not allowed to display on his/her person any advertising material other than the accepted name of his/her affiliated club nor take onto the arena or course any form of advertising except where approved by BAF, this ruling will apply to all clothing that is visible. In all Championships Athletes must wear the vest of the first claim club under whose name they compete, or wear a National, Regional, or County vest. Only 5mm spike to be worn.

    £7.00 per event
    £10.00 per relay team.
